Hartford, CT Auditorium Fire, Feb 1914
HARTFORD FIRE.
Hartford, Conn., Feb. 26. -- The auditorium on Asylum street, the scene of many political gatherings, was burned today.
The building had a restaurant and four or five stores on the ground floor, offices on the second floor and a moving picture theatre on the third. The fire started in a trunk shop on the ground floor and within a few moments the entire north end of the building fell to the street, striking firemen, spectators and horses. Only one serious injury resulted, however, a fireman having his leg broken. There were many escapes.
