WRECK ON D. & R. G.

Salida, Colo, March 4. --- Denver & Rio Grande west bound passenger train No 3, known as the Continental Limited, was derailed near here early today, causing the death of Fireman G. H. ELLIOTT of Pueblo, Colorado, who was crushed beneath his engine. Engineers JAMES STEWART and A. GUTTSHALL and Fireman WM. SUDDETH, all of Pueblo were injured. GUTTSHALL was so badly scalded he will probably die.

According to a statement by the railroad authorities none of the passengers were hurt. The passengers were asleep when the accident occurred and the occupants of the pullmans ran out in their night clothes, despite the bitter cold, to assist the wounded trainmen.
