SEVERED AT THE WRIST.

A Young Man Has His Hand Sawed Off.

An accident of a very serious nature happened at Welty's saw mill near Four Mile at about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. A young man named John Houghton, employed in the mill, while working around the machinery, in some way got his left arm in front of the saw which instantly severed the hand from the wrist. The unfortunate young man was at once given all the assistance in the power of those at the mill, and was then brought to this city, where a physician's services were secured and Houghton's wound properly dressed.
