FIRE AT LEADVILLE.

Leadville, Dec. 23.----The shaft house on No. 2 shaft of the Duncan mine caught fire this morning about 4 o'clock and was entirely destroyed. It was one of the largest shaft houses in the camp and the loss is about $4000. The lessees were to have started work on the property to-day, and these people have been carrying on preparatory work for the past two days. Their loss will amount to a few hundred dollars. The fire is supposed to have caught accidentally in the engine room.
