DENVER HOTEL FIRE KILLS THREE.

Denver, Aug. 26 -- (AP) -- Three persons were killed and nine injured in a fire which swept through the second-story Denver hotel at 17th and Market streets early this morning.
Two men found dead in the hotel have been identified by Denver detectives as SHORT GANZALES, about 35, of Broomfield, Colo., and HARRY SMITH, 60. SMITH'S home is not known, but he recently worked on a cattle ranch near Jefferson, Colo.

VERA GREGORY of Denver died this afternoon in Denver General hospital of second and third degree burns suffered in the fire. The medical examiner said she had burns all over her body.

One of the nine still listed as injured, NORMAN COMBS of Denver, is reported "critical" by the hospital.

Fire Chief ALLIE FELDMAN said the blaze apparently started from a dropped cigaret. It was first noticed by two miliary policemen. Their notification brought seven trucks and all police ambulances. The fire was under control 15 minutes after firefighters arrived.
