Hagerman, CO Train Wreck, May 1892

A Freight Wreck.

Leadville, May 16.---There are meagre reports of a freight on the midland between here and Hagerman last night. It seems that two cars that were being loaded with lumber started down grade. A freight train was just climbing the hill, and the engineer and crew saw the runaway cars and jumped to save themselves. A number of the cars were badly wrecked. The officials here have no particulars, but it is stated by those who saw the wreck that the damage is over $1000.

Albuquerque Morning Democrat, Albuquerque, NM 17 May 1892
