FIREMEN DIE IN FLAMES AT SAN FRANCISCO

Building Collapses and Buries Three Under Debris; Seven others Are Injured.

THIRTY ROOMERS RESCUED BY POLICE AND MILITARY MEN

SAN FRANCISCO (AP)--Three firemen, one an assistant chief, were killed and seven others seriously injured late Friday in the downtown district when they were trapped under the collapsed walls of a three-story frame lodging house destroyed by fire.

First Assistant Chief Stephen D. Russel [sic] and Jack Collins were dead when dragged from under the debris. William Allen died on the way to a hospital. Seven others were taken to hospitals for treatment.

Thirty roomers were taken from the building by the police, soldiers and sailors, before the collapse.
