Dallas Navy Man Killed In Air Crash

Martin Wood Olmsted, 39, airplane machinist's mate, second class, died Sunday at Oakland, Calif., ad the result of a plane crash, the Navy notified his wife, Mrs. Maud S. Olmsted, 1151 North Winnetka, Monday.

The family had not received further details of the accident, and were awaiting further information before planning funeral services, which will be held here.

A native of Shipman, Ill., Olmsted had been a resident of Texas for the last fifteen years. He entered the Navy in the latter part of December, and prior to that time he had been a civilian employee at Duncan Field, San Antonio.

He is survived by his wife, a son, Milton Olmsted; two sisters, Mrs. H. Chase, Manteno, Ill.; Mrs. Cora E. Howard, Alton, Ill.; two brothers, Chief Petty Officer Leland A. Olmsted, United States Navy; Henry C. Olmsted, St. Louis.
