FIREMAN DIES IN LOS ANGELES BLAZE.

Los Angeles, Nov. 6 -- (AP) -- One fireman was crushed to death and three others were injured today in a spectacular fire which swept through the five-story Gray building at Third and Broadway today, doing damage estimated unofficially at $400,000.
Twenty of the 150 workers, most of them women, employed in the building were trapped for a time when a fire escape ladder at the second floor stuck. Some of the women became hysterical and were about to jump when firemen reached them with a truck ladder.
Fireman JOSEPH W. KACL, 25, was crushed to death by printing press machinery which fell from the fourth floor to the basement.
