FIRE AT SAN JOSE DESTROYS PROPERTY VALUED AT $200,000

San Jose, Cal., Oct. 12.--The Arcade store, on South First street, was burned last night, and the entire stock valued at $135,000 was destroyed, as also was the building, values at $35,000, and other losses brought the grand total up to $200,000.

The fire started in a small shop at the rear of the building at 10 o’clock. For a time the Garden City Bank and the entire business portion of the city was threatened.

Two firemen were severely injured.
