Oakland, CA Two Busses And Auto Collide, Dec 1944

12 HURT IN COLLISION OF OAKLAND AUTO, BUSSES.

Oakland, Calif. -- The drivers of two Key System busses and 10 passengers were injured early today in a collision which also involved an automobile driven by MILTON DALE DOLON of 1717 16th Avenue, a sailor based at the Alameda Naval Air Station.
He was taken into custody by police for investigation of drunken driving involving personal injury.
Police reported DOLON'S automobile collided with a south-bound bus on Fifth Avenue of East 11th Street, the impact sending that bus into a second bus, which was north-bound.
The injured were:
CHARLES E. DUNTON, 27, of 838 33rd Avenue, bus driver, possible skull fracture, broken nose and severe face cuts.
ADAM BELMONT HAMM, 24, of 2915 School Street, bus driver, cuts on knees and face.
MARION IRBY, 46, of 527 East 12th Street, fractured knee, possible broken ribs and shock.
VERONICA HOFFMANN, 23, of 624 Seventh Street, Hayward, cuts and bruises.
MRS. HELEN ROSAS, 20, and MRS. CONCEPCION ROSAS, 35, both of 716 East 22nd Street, cuts and bruises.
KATHERINE KUEBLER, 66, of 1063 Bella Vista Avenue, chest injuries.
MAVIS GARRETT, 20, a sailor, broken right arm.
ANTOINETTE BOWMAN, 35, of 1050 Eighth Avenue, upper teeth broken.
GEORGE KENNEDY, of 1127 East 23rd Street, shock.
BEN WISHING, of 738 East 17th Street, leg and shoulder injuries.
LILLIAN FALKNER, of 625 Foothill Boulevard, leg and shoulder injuries.
All but three of the injured were released after emergency treatment at Highland Hospital. DOLON escaped any injury, police said.
