14 KILLED IN MARIN CRASH OF U.S. PLANE.

Hamilton Field, Calif., June 5 -- (UP) -- Fourteen men, including both civilians and soldiers, were killed last night when a heavy bomber crashed into a hillside three miles southwest of here, Hamilton Field authorities announced today.
The dead included seven army enlisted men, five civilians, and at least two additional men whose status was not ascertained officially at once. The members of the plane's crew, including pilot, copilot, navigator, mechanic and radioman, were civilians, Hamilton Field announced.
Names of the victims were withheld pending official confirmation of their identities and notification of the next of kin.
The big bomber, described by the army as a
"transient plane," smashed into a hill at 10:45 p.m.
and burst into flames six minutes after it took off from Hamilton Field.
The flames crackling from the wreckage could be seen 20 miles away. The occupants of the plane were trapped.
"None got out," a Hamilton Field spokesman said.
The plane crash was near the small Marin County community of Ignacio and about a mile east of the main San Rafael - Santa Rosa highway.

Hamilton Field, Cal., June 6. -- (UP) -- Five crew members from the Consolidated Aircraft plant and nine enlisted men died in the crash of a heavy bomber three miles northwest of here, army authorities said Saturday.
The bomber described as a "transient plane," crashed into a hillside and burst into flames six minutes after the takeoff from Hamilton Field.
