FOUR KILLED AS CAR HITS ABUTMENT.

Visalia (AP) -- A compact car unsuccessfully attempted to pass a truck yesterday and struck a bridge abutment, killing four persons from the Tule Indian Reservation.
The California Highway Patrol said the car glanced off the left rear of the pickup truck, hit the abutment and then was struck from the rear by the truck.
The dead, all in the car, were TOMMY EUGENE, 20, the driver; ALVIN TEYRON, 19; DENNIS GARFIELD, 19; and JENNY CHAVEZ, 25.
Patrolmen said the accident happened on State Route 69, about 12 miles northeast of Visalia.
