PLANE CRASH KILLS 2.

Milpitas -- A young man and woman were killed in the crash of a single-engine private plane in a muddy field north of here shortly before 11 a.m. today.
Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies tentatively indentified the pilot as ROBERT ALEXANDER JONES of Santa Clara. Identification was made from papers on the body. There was no identification on his woman passenger, however, she carried a check in the name of BETTY JEAN BENSON.
The crash occurred about 300 yards west of Nimitz Freeway, a half mile north of the Milpitas -- Mt. View turnoff from the Nimitz. It was seen by many motorists on the freeway. Witnesses told investigating deputies the light-plane was flying low when it suddenly did a semi-loop and ploughed nose first into the field.
The bodies, badly mutilated, were thrown only a few feet from the plane. They were taken to Santa Clara County coroner's office pending more definite identification.
