Success, AR McCracken Osborn Fire, Apr 1925

Fire from an oil stove in the Burton Butcher shop at Success last Monday morning, when the proprietor left his place of business for a few minutes, got beyond control and destroyed two frame business buildings. The structures, owned by W.R McCraken and Mr. Osborn, housed Burton's market, the Jolly grocery, Barwick shoe and jewelry repair shop, the Smith barber shop and a vacant room recently occupied by J.W Thompson's stock of goods. The loss is estimated at about $7,000. Part of the contents of the business places, except Burton's and Smith's were salvaged. The Osborn building was insured for $900.
