Darnsdanelle, AR School Bus And Truck Crash, Feb 1943
FOUR CHILDREN DEAD IN BUS-TRUCK CRASH.
Darndanelle, Ark., Feb. 16. (AP) -- A school bus and a truck collided on a one-way bridge late today, killing four school children and injuring a score of others. The accident occurred one mile west of Dandanelle.
The dead:
MERRITT BANKS, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Banks.
RUFUS BRANCH, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Branch.
REBECCA HIGHLAND, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Highland.
LLOYD FARMER, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Farmer.
WILLIAM CARTER, a Dandanelle high school faculty member who was a passenger aboard the bus, was critically injured.
Thirteen of the children were taken to a Russellville hospital.
