Nome, AK Plane Crashes On Take Off, Apr 1944
6 ALASKAN CRASH VICTIMS FOUND.
Nome, Alaska, April 8 -- (INS) -- Search parties located and returned today the bodies of six men who died in the crash of a Pan American Airways passenger plane 10 miles east of Nome.
Passengers who perished when the big plane plummeted into remote wasteland only minutes after its takeoff from Nome for Fairbanks were ERIC KOTENGEN, BILLY MULLAY and ANDREW WILSON, all from Alaska.
Crew dead were Capt. ROBERT L. BULLIS, pilot, of Yakima, Wash.; and flight mechanic FRED MOLLER, Alaska. Also killed was a company maintenance man, THEODORE SELLENRICH, riding as a passenger.
