ALASKA SLIDE DEATH TO MANY.
ELEVEN BURIED AT CORDOVA AND ONLY TWO HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT ALIVE.
Cordova, Alaska, Dec. 9. -- Nine men are believed to have been killed today when a snowslide on Copper Mountain carried away seven buildings of the Great Northern Development Company.
Eleven men were buried under the avalanche and only two have been removed alive. Three are known to be dead and no hope is entertained for six others.
The bodies of JOHN HART; JAMES McGAYLOCK and FRANK WAHLS, have been recovered.
The mine, which is a copper property, is owned by the Great Northern Development Company of New York, E. F. Gray, its manager, is now in that city.
