The dead are: J. D. HALL of Pell City and THOMAS WHITFIELD of Cedartown, Ga. The injured are: N. B. SPEARS, ex-member of the Alabama legislature and Republican candidate for Congress in the Seventh district two years ago; JOHN GRIFFIN, M. TILDEN, Atlanta, Ga.; MACEY SEABORN, D. A. PIKE, FRANK HIGHTOWER, MRS. HARDY CORNELL, proprietor of the Pell City hotel, W. A. CROOLEY, druggist; E. P. SINCLAIR and J. M. JACKSON.

FATALLY HURT IN DISASTER
HON. N. B. SPEARS A BROTHER-IN-LAW OF MRS. HIATT, OF THIS CITY-HAVOC WROUGHT BY DYNAMITE.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Nov. 17.-(Associated Press.)-A fire which broke out in the freight depot of the Southern railway at Pell City, fifty-four miles eastof [sic] here, at 4 o'clock this morning was followed by a terrible explosion which resulted in two persons being killed and ten injured, two perhaps fatally.
Among the injured is the HON. N. B. SPEARS, former member of the Alabama Legislature and Republican candidate for Congress in the Seventh district two years ago, who had an arm broken and was internally injured: very serious and perhaps fatal.
Engineer JOHN GRIFFIN was terribly cut in the side by a piece of flying wood and fatally hurt.
HAS SISTER-IN-LAW HERE.
HON. N. B. SPEARS, mentioned in the above dispatch as having been terribly injured in the disaster, is a brother-in-law of Mrs. Helen Hiatt, of 148 Barr street, this city. Mrs. Hiatt has not yet heard from her sister, but expects a message this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Spears had been living at Pell City about fifteen years.
