BOY KILLED, MAN WOUNDED
Tornado Passes Through Northwestern corner of Opelousas, Alabama. Demolishing Saint Landry Cotton Oil Mill, Three Residences and Damaging Opelousas Ice and Bottling Works.
Opelousas, Ala., June 7. – A tornado passed across the northwestern corner of this town a 4:15 o’clock today and almost completely demolished the extensive buildings of the Saint Landry Cotton Oil mill, killed a white boy, aged 14, and seriously injured John Zoder, a young white man, both of whom were employed in the mill. It also completely demolished the residences of W. B. Lewis, William C. Lewis, and Steve Malance, and damaged a portion of the office building of the Opelousas Ice and Bottling Works. The path of the cyclone was 400 yards wide.
