BIG FIRE LOSS AT ABBEVILLE
Alabama Town Is Almost Wiped Out by the Flames.
Dothan Ala May 21 - Although detailed estimates of the loss suffered by Abbeville Ala in the big fire of last night are not yet at this time, obtainable is [sic] seems certain that the aggregate amount will not fall short of $100,000 The flames wiped out the entire south end of the business portion of the town, the residence district escaping.
The Crawford hotel except the business houses was the only building to go up in smoke. The Bank of Abbeville also escaped. Practically all of the business houeses [sic] destroyed were wooden structures Abbeville, which is the capital of Henry County is a small town of 2500 population, situated 33 miles from Dothan on the Atlantic Coast Line railroad. The court house was not touched by the flames.

WOMAN DIES OF FRIGHT.
Mrs. Gregory Was Ill and Fire Frightened Her.
Dothan, Ala., May 22.-(Special) Mrs. Yancey Gregory is dead at her home in Abbeville, Ala., as the result of fright occurring when the disastrous fire almost destroyed the entire business section of the town Sunday night. Mrs. Gregory was ill at the time, and her system was unable to withstand the shock.
