CAPT. HOBSON'S CAR KILLS SMALL BOY
Representative Was Not in His Automobile When Accident Occurred in Alabama
Lanet, Ala, Feb. 22. -- Congressman Hobson's automobile, in which he toured Chambers county yesterday, is said to have run over and killed the 8-year-old son of James Napp, at Riverview. Capt Hobson was not in the car at the time. A chauffer named Lindsay was in charge of the machine, and it is said the boy ran to it and jumped on the step. The throbbing of the automobile, is is stated, threw the boy off and under the wheels.

1914 AUTO ACCIDENT IN RIVERVIEW ALABAMA
There is an error in this report...the child who was killed was named James Mapp, not Napp. I grew up in the Riverview Community...It is now inside the City of Valley, Alabama.
