Randolph, AL Tornado, Jan 1885
Selma, Ala., January 13.-- Specials report a cyclone last night passing through Hale, Perry and Bibb Counties, this state. The direction was from southwest to northeast. Damage was done to houses, fences and timber in its path, which was about a [illegible]. In Bibb county, near Centerville, it is reported a man, name unknown, was killed. Mrs. Mason had serious injuries. Several mills were wrecked. Near Randolph to mules were killed Strong houses a mile away from the path shook so the inmates thought a Spanish earthquake had come this way. The damage to houses and property will reach thousands of dollars. Timber forests are greatly injured, nearly a thousand trees lying within one mile across the road near Randolph.
